Creating Heat
Concept
So far all of our EPs followed lyrical concepts, and we liked the idea of staying on that path. During one of our nightly brainstorming sessions while writing the songs, it became clear that we're both at a point in our lives where we're reflecting on our lives a lot. And we also see how our dad is aging. Bette Davis was right, growing old is not for sissies. So we wondered if we could pull it off to write songs about different phases in our lives. And to avoid becoming too literal, we translated these phases into different forms of heat.

A journey through our lives: from Blaze to Ash
The order of the songs is basically a journey through our lives. Blaze is about my teenage years, just waiting to be allowed to finally live the life that I wanted to live. Flare is about our early adulthood, when life seemed very bright and so endlessly filled up with opportunities. Blowtorch is about these times when you’re simply fed up by people and jobs that take advantage of you. Furnace is about suffering a burnout. And Ash is about our dad, about becoming old and the challenges that aging brings with it.
The sound
We wanted to sound like a 4-piece band. Raw Alternative Rock, recorded in our imaginary rehearsal space. We revisited albums like Mad Season's Above, Monster Magnet's Dopes To Infinity, bands like Kyuss and The White Stripes, and we got hooked on Pearl Jam's album Yield.
